CHOO-CHOO!

Taylor loves trains, so we decided to go for a train ride. It was located in Essex, Connecticut. We all went and it was a lot of fun for the kids. We had a picnic, rode the train, rode a boat in the river and then rode the train back to the car. It was a very scenic and slow ride, just right for the kids.

Boston

I saw our pictures of Boston today and I realized I never blogged about it. On Labor Day we were lucky enough to go to Boston. We woke up at 3:45a, got ready and loaded the kids in the car. We had the oppurtunity to go to the Boston temple but we had to be there by 7:30. We arrived there on time and our friends, the Ogdens, watched our three kids at the church next door we went in. Then we watched their children whild they went in. It was such a great time. The children really loved being able to walk around the temple grounds and see how beautiful it was. I left my camera in the church by accident, so no picutres.

Afterwards we drove down into Boston and drove around Fenway Park while the twins slept and then parked downtown where we walked across a bridge to the USS Constitution. Taylor loved the battleship. He also loved following the red line that went throughout the city to all the historical sites. I have to agree, it was pretty cool. After a little site seeing we met back up with the Ogdens for lunch and a street performer magic show. The last thing we did was take Taylor back to a water fountain play area that we had seen earlier. He really wanted to jump in. I had a change of clothes so we let him get soaked. He loved it.

We had a great time. I love sight seeing and love to take my children on little historic adventures. The best part of all though was the temple and talking about it with the kids, while they experienced it.

Finally!

Drew and Lana have taken their sweet time learning how to walk. It has been killing my back carrying around the both of them. I still have to do a lot of carrying but I see the end in sight. They are both walking. Drew trys to walk everywhere, but sometimes gets to excited and starts crawling. Lana is still not sure about walking everywhere and instead screams, cries or finds someway to get my attention and then begs for me to pick her up. I did notice a big difference yesterday though. She has realized Drew is walking everywhere and she isn't, so, she has decided to try a little more.

I can not be happier! Taylor started walking at 10 months so this has been crazy for me to have to wait until 16 months. If they didn't start walking in 1 more month the doctors would get concerned. They made it, YEAH!!!!!!!!

Healthy Food vs. Ice Cream!

Taylor and Dave worked very hard on our small garden this year. We had some new obstacles to deal with, like deer and rabbits. They ate our sunflowers and pepper plants but left the rest. We had beans, peas, tomatoes, carrots, watermelon, lettuce, and one pumpkin. We love having a garden and I am getting better at cooking and storing all of it.

After picking all the yummy produce from the garden we decided to have ice cream :) The kids loved it, especially Drew. We also tried the watermelon but it was not quite ripe, oh well.

Visitors

We had visitors mid August and we had so much fun. My mom, my sister Amy, Kace and Kassidy all came for a week. My mom got here a little later than expected cause she had an allergic reaction to something on the airplane and had to be taken off by paramedics at her lay over and then she got stuck at the hospital over night in Chicago. Anyway, we had so much fun with everyone. Dave entertained the kids outside doing dangerous activities on Sunday and that night we went to a pond and caught frogs. Monday we went to the Danbury mall. Tuesday most of the crew went to New York City, I stayed back with the twins. Wednesday we went to Candlewood lake and Thursday we headed down to Philadelphia. There we met up with my dad and Casey. We helped Casey, Lindsay, and Jack move into their new apartment on Friday and Saturday we toured Philly.

We miss all of you. Kace we miss hearing about the Mac book Pro and Kassidy Taylor misses you buying him toys. Thanks to everyone for coming and helping with the kids. We had so much fun.

Taylor is so Fast!

Everyday Taylor tells me how fast he is and he is constantly running around the house and racing me everywhere we go. He loves to run. He is not the fastest but definitely has endurance. He ran with Dave for a mile on the beach in NJ this summer.

When I found out that our fair days had a race for children 4 and under, I had to get him signed up. I unfortunately forgot the camera that day, I would have liked to have recorded the race, oh well. Lucky for us he was in the newspaper.
He has such determination on his face. To his right is one of his friends Isabelle, her and her sister Sybene ran in the race with him. He was so fun to watch. He was so confident that he was the fastest and ran with that confidence. He stayed in the middle of the pack and kept his eyes on everyone around him. We are so proud of him for doing this. He is really shy and does not like to adventure far from his parents, this was a big step for him. Everyone received a medal and a water bottle for finishing.

Happy Birthday Honey!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband. He is such a fun, loving father and an amazing husband. I love watching him with our children and spending time with him. Thanks for all you do for us. We love you!!!

I tried to download a video of my crazy husband entertaining the guests from Utah but it didn't work. Here is a photo instead. He is riding on a toddler car down our very, very steep driveway. It was not the smartest thing to do but at least he had a helmet on, right! :)
